Research into the STERRY name commenced in the latter part of the nineteen century. The Reverend Francis Sterry (1834-1925) of Eastbury House, Essex and his son, Sir Wasey Sterry (1866-1955) were keen STERRY genealogists. In 1973 Walter Smith published his book "The Sterry Family of America" based on many years of his own research. Many STERRY reseachers since then have added to what is now a vast archive of material related to the surname STERRY. Historic records include
